A projection of the agent’s thoughts, context, and soul—one file per memory, recording the “complete trail of clues” (background/materials + user prompts/decisions + overview); layered recall via read_shadow + memory forgetting (retention) + guardrails (data is not instructions); shadow_query also supports a resource type (derived projections of resource cards in `.shadow/resources/`). TypeScript source index.ts → tsc → dist/index.js (DSH loads the compiled JS). Validation baseline DSH 0.1.5-rc.1 (engines.dsh, a validation baseline declaration rather than a mandatory gate; missing components are reported through capability detection at mount time).
Compatibility and provenance
Shadow is published as dsh-shadow and currently resolves to version 1.19.1. The Hub verifies its manifest and preserves the exact installation source for reproducible installs.
